Whenever it comes to debate on good drivers, male vs. female is always a hot topic for discussion. Certainly, such discussions divide the people in the group of two, where one section claims women to be better drivers and the other gives instances for men as a better driver. The discussions mainly get heated up on specific points like parking skills, putting brakes exactly at the right moment. But, these days, the interest has shifted to argument over which sex is worst at the learning stage. To analyze the worst learner driver let us glance over the evidences & statistics.

Learner driver’s statistics:

As per the Driving Standards Agency’s report, certain similarities & differences can be highlighted in the driving of male and females.

The most common similarity or say failure in both men and women is checking the rear view mirror. They both face difficulties in identifying various dangers at different junctions.

According to the report, at several point women is comparatively weak in her performance as compared to men. Their weakness lies in reverse parking, gear changing and problems with handling steering.

As per the year 2012’s status-“…women made 857, 000 major driving errors while out on their driving tests. This is in comparison to men who only made 646,000 mistakes.”

Qualified Drivers’ Statistics:

Statistics says that although women have comparatively poor performance than men, yet when they pass the test, they are safer than men on the roads. Here are some interesting conclusions analyzed from the same report.

•    In case of exceeding the speed limit, women do it 12 % less than men.
•    They are 28% less likely to drive during the night

The conversation or say debate over this issue would remain heated for years, but if we see the statistics then women might be lesser than men at the learning stage, but once they are thorough with the test, they are better than other drivers. Anyhow, this is just the statistics; it all depends upon the individual drivers as well.
